AAA Cards - #84 Watercolour

We're getting our watercolours out this fortnight at AAA Cards and loving all the different ways they can be used.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2017/02/cas-game-84-watercolour.html

I chose the apply ink to an acrylic block and use it to stamp a background method for my card, currently my favourite technique.

I stamped and embossed the beautiful Uniko chrysanthemum using white embossing powder on top of the background colours. I then used a brush to add more of the same colours to the flower head to increase the intensity.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals Chrysanthemum
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Versafine; Ranger distress, mustard seed, picked raspberry, spiced marmalade
Embossing: Ranger Superfine white mixed with WOW! sparkling snow

So how will you use water colours? Love seeing and learning all your clever ways with them, go see what the AAA Cards DT have created here.  We also have two fabulous Guest Designers joining us for this challenge - Bev from Uniko who is our sponsor and Michelle Bala from passionatecrafter.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today, I'm so pleased to have your company.  And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Sneak Peeks 1

I've got a couple of little peeks at the upcoming Uniko February release to share with you today and news of a freebie digi stamp too.

Something completely different - can't wait to show you the full reveal!

Something to add on - or use on its own - to an existing set. Magic!

There will be a peek at another three sets tomorrow, then on Monday we begin introducing each set individually followed by the full reveal and release on Saturday. Going to be a busy Uniko week!

Oh and that freebie! Well Super Free Saturday has returned to the Uniko blog and Bev will be giving away a free digi stamp during the months that there isn't a new release. Well yes I know there is a free digi plus a new release this month - but then it's Uniko's birthday and Bev is celebrating by being extra generous.
Go check it all out here and download your free digi and once you've made your card why not link it up here.

Thanks for looking today.  And keep crafting!

Thursday Thoughts

Well this is a bit of a treat of a post for me. It has nothing to do with challenges or DT work or card making, but all to do with my first love - scrapbooking. I had a bit of a scrapping fest last weekend and completed five pages and I'd like to share them all with you today.

First up is the most recent photo that's slotted nicely into my 2017 album.

Sort of doing this in reverse date order, so next up is a trio of photos from when I decided it was time to brighten up the view from the kitchen window.

The next page is about a meet up with friends I used to work with before I retired. We meet for lunch regularly, but don't always take photos and I rarely scrap about it. Then one of us was lost so it seemed important to document this next phase when we are now five instead of six.

My next page goes back to just after Christmas 2016 and ia a photo that really touches my heart.

And my final share is the last page in my 2016 album - which I've decided is a wrap for the time being - and draws on some of my best memories from that year.

Thank you for looking today and sharing in my indulgence and love of scrapbooking. I know most visitors are really card making folks, but if you've made it this far I'm really grateful and you're a star!

I'll be back in card making mode tomorrow, so until then - keep crafting!

The Male Room #54 Wheels

Time to get out your wheels and join in with The Male Room's new challenge.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2017/02/challenge-54-theme.html

I chose a digi stamp - from Digi Stamp Boutique - of a skateboarder and spent a happy little while colouring him in to match the strip of washi down the left hand side.

We have a bit of a family story to tell related to skateboards and it may make you smile. When one of my sons was in his twenties he decided he wanted to recapture his childhood and asked for a skateboard for Christmas. So Christmas morning out he went and promptly fell off and dislocated his shoulder on the road kerb - seems he hadn't factored in how grown ups don't bounce like children when they fall! Not the best day to visit A&E, but it makes a good story to tell!

Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Stamp Boutique, Skater Joe
Pens: Promarkers, cool grey 3, mustard, blush, dusky pink, ivory, burnt orange; Spectrum Noir Colorista, cyan, pale mint, canary, gold
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables
Embellishments: Washi from my stash

How will you use wheels on your creations? Can't wait to see and maybe you'll have a story to tell too. Anyway do take a peek at The Male Room's DT inspiration - here - before you go off and get all crafty.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko sponsors CASology

Just popping in to share a card I made for Uniko as part of their sponsorship of the new CASology challenge that starts today.

 http://casology.blogspot.com/2017/02/weel-236-romance.html

My card uses one of the freebie digital images Bev has designed to coincide with this challenge.

I changed up the colour from black to a vibrant purply pink, sized the image and then printed it onto card stock.

I masked off a horizontal strip and added purple ink using an inkylicious brush, stamped the greeting and added an outline using a grey promarker.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, digital freebie & All Occasion Sentiments #5
Inks: Ranger distress, shaded lilac; Memento, tuxedo black
Promarker: Cool grey 1

Thanks for looking today, your visit is much appreciated. Have fun with the Uniko freebies and keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches - #210

This is my second week hosting over at CAS Colours & Sketches and I've created this sketch which i hope you'll enjoy using.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2017/02/challenge-210-sketch.html

Here's my card:

I chose some very not like me colours for this card, hoping for some sunshine and warm days I think! I started by masking off the vertical strip and using a stencil. I then stamped the flower heads and die cut a line of crosses to link them up.

The additon of enamel dots to the flower centres and a sentiment finished off my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Blooms & Wishes
Inks: SU, peekaboo peach, calypso coral, so saffron; Memento, tuxedo black
Dies: MFT Die-namics, basic stitched lines
Stencil: TCW, mini tiny circles
Embellishments: SU, enamel dots, peekaboo peach

Will you be joining in with this challenge? I really hope so! Go check out the rest of the CC&S DT cards here, remember to keep CAS and get linking up.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.  And keep crafting!
